Florida’s Dilano “The Postman” Taylor’s journey to Canada proved successful but not in the way anyone hoped for. Though Taylor took an early lead, dropping his opponent Jordan “Young Gun” Mein, the bout would ultimately end via technical knockout due to injury.
After recovering from some early danger Alberta’s Mein made it back to his feet halfway through the opening round. In an unfortunate turn of events, Mein would tear his left bicep on a body shot soon after limiting his lead arms mobility. Though he was able to finish the first round his corner opted to end the fight between rounds due to the injury. This victory was Dilano Taylor’s first win since beating Rory MacDonald in August 2022.
In the co-main event, another American would take home a hard-earned victory. Michigan’s Tyler Grimsley kept his undefeated record intact with a unanimous decision over Xavier Nash. Though the contest was competitive with both men doing damage on the feet and landing takedowns over 15 minutes Nash would only take home one round on the judges’ scorecards reading: 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28.
In his post-fight speech, Grimsley said this victory is “more than enough” to earn a shot with the UFC. Only time will tell if this punches the American’s ticket to the big show.
Montreal’s Louie Sanoudakis would pick up a first-round rear naked choke submission over Indiana’s Shawn Johnson. This was Sanoudakis’ first time competing in MMA following a two-year hiatus. This win marks his tenth victory on his pro record.
Belleville’s Andrew Babcock won his second pro victory over Gatineau’s Patrick Arseneau. After securing an early takedown “Babjitsu” would secure a reverse crucifix position and lock up a modified rear naked choke in the first round. Babcock now has back-to-back submissions inside the BTC Fight cage to start his pro career.
